If you think about how to improve your studio, a chair might be one of the last things you think about. Usually, people rather think about which Synthesizer, Acoustic treatment or Speakers to buy next. But there are more vital parts of a productive working environment. One really important aspect is how you sit. My old big black office chair finally died and I was using a horribly small office chair. I am almost 2 meter high so it was clear that this was only a compromise solution. I had to buy a new chair, that was clear. I spent humongous amounts of time in front of my PC and speakers so buying the right chair is a vital thing. I knew that this is not only about productivity but also about my health.

Since I still didn`t become a rich man through my music I had to find a great chair that doesn’t rip a hole in my pocket while at the same time is still suitable for my body size. it turned out that this isn’t as easy as I first thought. Most chairs are simply not build to suit really tall people.

After thorough research, it became clear that the Fixmax is one of the most suitable for tall people so I gave it a go. A few days later, a huge box with the chair arrived. The assembly was very straightforward and simple. The tools were provided in the box and it took me less than 15 minutes to assemble the whole chair.

Build Quality

The build quality is pretty good for the price. Of course, you will get something far superior if you spent some more buck, but my aim was to stay below 200 €(which is not much for a proper Gaming or Office chair). The chair consists out of plastic, steel, and fake leather. I immediately realized that this was indeed a huge chair. It looked giant compared to my compromise solution chair. From what I know about chairs the quality is top notch for the price asked.

The Design

It is actually one of the better-looking chairs in my opinion. I don`t like a look that is to “gamy”. I really prefer a more understated look so I chose the black and white edition. The chair looks downright classy and many people would probably think it cost me a leg from the looks alone. There are some logos on the chair but fortunately, they don`t look terrible and they aren`t too much in your face. I really am not a fan of things that look like toys. This chair, despite being targeted at gamer, looks serious enough to have it standing in a proper production studio. Instead of destroying your studio atmosphere, this chair enhances the visual qualities of your workspace.

Is it comfy?

Gaming Chair for StudioYes, it is super comfy and quite adjustable. The neck pillow can be attached to two different spots, depending on your size. this makes the chair much more versatile and suited for a big and small people alike. There is only one way to adjust the armrest, no 4D adjustments or fancy stuff there(although to be fair you simply won’t find that at a price point below 200 Euro anyway). As a bonus, you get a lumbar massage cushion that is USB-powered. While this is slightly gimmicky and doesn’t really improve the chair perse, it is still an awesome little thing. Don`t get me wrong, a real massage is something different. But it works and after all: why the hell not!

Verdict

This chair is super amazing for the current price point of less than 200€. Ergonomics can make a huge difference in your working environment and this chair was a huge improvement for me. I finally sit healthy and comfy in my studio. The chair looks great, has a decent build quality and a fair price point. On top of that, it is comfier than many other chairs I tried that get sold for way more money. Especially if you are tall and on a budget, this is a great chair to buy. This thing will make your studio look better and it will improve your working space a lot if you used a regular chair before as I did.

Pros:

  • Suitable for tall people
  • Awesome price
  • Massage Pillow
  • Nice Design
  • Comfy

Cons

  • Mediocre build quality
